HOV Foundation is Host Vision's community empowerment program, serving vulnerable families across three informal settlements in Douala, Cameroon.
"HOV Foundation exists to fight hunger, restore dignity, and expand opportunity for vulnerable populations in Douala's informal settlements — with a special focus on single mothers, orphaned and vulnerable children, young girls, pregnant women, and displaced families — through integrated programs in food relief, health, education, and community empowerment."
Female-headed households carrying the weight of their families alone.
Orphaned and vulnerable children in need of protection and opportunity.
Adolescent girls at risk of early pregnancy and school dropout.
Pregnant women, new mothers, and families affected by crisis and displacement.
HOV's home base — a dense urban settlement with significant food insecurity, single-mother households, and limited healthcare access.
One of Douala's oldest informal neighborhoods, facing high youth unemployment and child welfare challenges.
Rapidly growing peri-urban areas facing acute hygiene deficits and high rates of adolescent pregnancy.
As a newly founded organization, here is what we are working toward in our first year.

Register 300 vulnerable families across our three target communities.
Recruit and train 6 Community Health Ambassadors, two per community.
Secure at least one funding source through diaspora, church, and international foundation partnerships.
